Collective protection for Ukrainians in Norway / Kollektiv beskyttelse i Norge
Are you ukrainian citizen and refugee? You should register your arrival in Norway to the police. Åfjord municipality can help you with this. Call telephone 902 60 437, Monday to Friday between 8 am and 3.30 pm. We will help you to fill the form to register, and deliver it to the police. In this link you can see where our office is located in center of Åfjord.
You can also go the local police station in Åfjord to get this help. They are open on Tuesdays from 9 am to 2 pm. From June 21. they are open every week day from 10 am to 2 pm.
If you for any reason will do this in Trondheim, you can book an appointment directly with the police there. You can make an appointment on telephone 73 89 90 90 or e-mail post.trondelag@politiet.no.
Ukrainian citizens who apply for protection in Norway, will receive temporary collective protection for one year. This will open to several rights in society. It is important to register and apply for collective protection. More information:

After the application has been sent to the police, you will get an invitation to an interview with them. After the interview you will get your D number, which is a temporary identification number.
D number
A D number is a temporary identification number that you receive from the Norwegian Tax Administration. It is given when you need an identification number in Norway, but do not meet the criteria to being assigned a national identity number. You can read more about it in the link:

Free travel on trains and express buses expires on December 15. 2022
Ukrainian refugees can until December 15. 2022 travel for free on public transport in major parts of Trøndelag, including Åfjord. This is managed and offered from the public company AtB.
